В статье представлены сведения об истории создания, становления и деятельности военно-морской кафедры Ростовского медицинского института в период ее существования с 1955 по 1983 г. Описаны достижения преподавательского состава по организации и проведению учебного процесса по подготовке офицеров медицинской службы запаса из числа студентов вуза, по созданию учебно-материальной базы кафедры, успехи в научной и воспитательной работе. Значительная часть статьи посвящена описанию работы коллектива по военно-патриотическому воспитанию студентов. Дана краткая характеристика офицерского состава кафедры.

The article provides information about the history of creation, formation and work of the Naval department of the Rostov Medical Institute in the period of its existence from 1955 to 1983. It describes the achievements of the faculty staff on the organization and conduct of the educational process in training reserve officers of the medical service from among the university students, creating educational and material base of the department, success in scientific and educational work. A considerable part of the article is devoted to the description of the work of the team on military-patriotic education of students. There is a brief description of the officers of the Department.
