Статья посвящена вопросам истории становления и развития военно-морской медицины России. Вопросам охраны здоровья моряков уделялось большое внимание с момента создания Военно-Морского Флота России. Одновременно с постройкой новых кораблей и морских портов открывались лечебные и учебные заведения, внедрялись передовые методы профилактики и лечения заболеваний, ранений и травм. Военно-морская медицина и ее лучшие представители внесли неоценимый вклад в развитие отечественного здравоохранения. Освоение современных кораблей предъявляет высокие требования к состоянию здоровья военных моряков, что необходимо учитывать при разработке перспективных направлений военно-морской медицины.
The paper addresses the history of establishing and developing of navy medicine in Russia. Mariners’ health care has been being a primary concern from the very start of the Russian Navy. In parallel with building ships and founding seaports, medical and educational facilities were being established and up-to-date approaches to prevention and treatment of diseases, traumas and wounds were being introduced. Navy medicine and its prominent figures made an invaluable contribution to Russian public health. Mastering modern ships puts in stringent requirements to the health conditions of navy personnel and, hence, to planning the development of navy medicine.
